Borat, il finto giornalista kazaco interpretato da Sasha Baron Choen esiste davvero. Almeno è quello che dice un tizio che si vanta di esserne l'ispiratore.

Il presunto vero Borat si chiama Mahir Cagri ed è, per grande gioia dei miei amici Greci, un Turco. Il sito è questo qui: http://www.ikissyou.org.

Secondo me neanche fa finta di essere quello che appare. Comunque la pagina è online dal 2001. E' forse questo un grande passo indietro per la turcia nel percorso di ammissione all'unione europea? Nel dubbio fatevi qualche risata a cercare frasi celebri come "I like sex" usando la Internet WayBack Machine ;) (Ecco per i pigri l'elenco completo delle copie memorizzate)

Per la cronaca il fenomeno Borat è nato alla fine del 2000, mentre secondo fonti incerte Sasha Baron gia interpretava un Giornalista simile nella metà degli anni 90, quindi non si può avere la certezza che questo sia davvero l'ispiratore di Borat.

Come configurare il Nokia per Wind su Mac

Questa volta vediamo come configurare il telefonino nokia per andare su internet usando il servizio UTMS/GPRS con Bluetooth e il MacBook. Infatti chiedendo aiuto al 155 ci manderanno una mail che contiene un PDF con informazioni per computer windows e comunque del tutto inadeguate! Premesso che la connessione via USB non mi viene è molto più facile eseguire quella attraverso il Bluetooth.

La prima cosa da fare è impostare il Nokia (Questa guida funziona con i telefonini Symbian). Per fare ciò aprite il menu e selezionate la icona delle "impostazioni". Da quella andate alla voce "Connessione". Infine nella voce "Dati a Pacchetto". Il passo importante è mettere il punto di accesso di Wind che è "internet.wind" lasciate la connessione sulla modalità "se disponibile".

Una volta configurato il nokia aprite OS X e con il bluetooth aggiungere il telefono al sistema operativo. Quando vi chiede lo script da utilizzare va benissimo quello predefinito (Nokia Infrared) il numero da inserire è invece: *99***1# come da screenshot.

Finito, lasciando tutti gli altri parametri di serie la connessione funziona. Adesso state attenti ai costi! Leggetevi queste - RACCOMANDAZIONI -

Il costo della connessione GPRS si calcola sui Kilobyte scambiati. I kilobyte sono molto ma molto facili da scaricare. NON e ripeto NON usate la connessione Wind da PC per niente. Se volete comunque usare la connessione l'unico metodo per farlo è sottoscrivere un offerta a forfait!!! Una volta per provare mi sono connesso a ebay, risultato 8 euro persi in 7 minuti RIDICOLO. Il costo attuale è 0,3 eurocent a Kbyte scambiato. Per esempio: Un immagine allegata alla posta da 330Kb = 1 euro.

La Wind attualmente offre: Mega 15000 - 30 euro al mese per 15000 di consumo effettivo / Mega No Limit - Con 20 euro ti danno 8000 euro di consumo a tariffa "normale"

Considerazione
Costa troppo la tariffa normale. In paesi civili (vedi la finlandia o anche l'inghilterra) dopo un tot di connessione a volume scaricato si passa alla FLAT in automatico.

UPDATE: Da poco la wind offre un programma che si chiama "Wind Easy Connect" che permette di connettersi ad internet tramite cellulare. Sembra compatibile un po con tutto ma non ho verificato di persona.

I experienced some minor stains on my macbook recently. since it has less than one week I was pretty scared. If you happen to look on Google for the macbook stain an discoloration problem you can see that lots of people experience that. And they suggest funny or even dangerous solution to this problem! Now I maybe was lucky maybe not but just passing a cleaning rubber (eraser) on the stains removed them entirely. This has been so effective to the point it was disturbing as much as previous efforts were unsuccessful. I previously tried some mild detergent with paper towels with no success.

Buy a MacBook and enter the Twilight Zone

I am puzzled. I have a brand new MacBook sporting an enhanced 801.11n super airport card (Atheros for the normal beings). The problem is that the macbook while working perfectly all over the house just refuses to connect to the wireless network from my room+bathroom. I will refer to this area as the Twilight Zone since strange things happen to the macbook standing there.

Being a technician, or something close to it, I started troubleshooting the problem. I was running a endless ping loop to the router in a dedicated program (Network Utility) and I'd been going around the house holding the macbook to see if any area was problematic. Everything was fine except for a small zone encompassing my room and my bathroom. In the "Twilight Zone" ping latencies were up to 22 seconds.

I now had an idea of the area causing trouble. I was determined to trace the fault either to a electrical appliance or a wireless coverage problem. In order to do so I installed KisMac aa wireless network auditing tool pretty much like Kismet and Network Stumbler. I discovered that while standing in the twilight zone the signal had spikes and canyons. Eventually I traced the cause to the air conditioner. Turning that off gave a smooth and consistent signal level. But unfortunately I was very wrong thinking that it had been the air conditioner. Even with the conditioner turned off the problem of the twilight Zone was still there. The MacBook refused to connect to the internet while in the room.

In a last effort of desperation I started windows xp risolutet to run Network Stumbler. To my surprise I am now writing this post from the macbook still inside the heart of the twilight zone with a perfect signal and very good ping timings. Holy cow of OS X!!!!

MacBook+OSX=No network - MacBook+WindowsXP=Network.

I guess this is gonna take more than a ride to the genius bar to explain the isssue.

Proposed Explanations:

1. OS X reads a integrated secret positioning system that is set up to stop the airport from working near my room
2. The engineers behind the Airport Driver are funny people and added a hidden "interference enhancement" option that is automatically selected as soon as I enter the room.
3. God hates me and punishes my efforts to find a logical explanation for the airport malfunction
4. Windows XP is better than OS X at least in dealing with wireless networks.

Fake Solution: After sleeping on the subject for a whole night I changed the wireless channel of the dlink basestation from 6 to 2. The problem was solved for a couple of minutes. This is anyway still puzzling since there is just a very weak network nearby but it didn't cause trouble to any of the Windows Pcs, only the macbook runnin OSX looks affected.

UPDATE: As you can see HERE many people are experiencing some odd behaviour on they macbooks as well

UPDATE2: Solved as the new airport upgrade from Apple eliminates the issue.

Come ho gia scritto in un post precedente AllofMp3 è stato chiuso per fare felici i finanziatori di Bush, Obama e miss Clinton ovvero la RIAA e Holliwood in genere. La mafiaa come dice qualcuno, i Maialopolisti come dice qualcun'altro.

Oggi AllTunes.com (ovviamente della stessa società di AllOfmp3) dichiara di aver vinto una causa contro la VISA (qui il link). Infatti sembra dimostrato che la VISA interruppe i servizi di pagamento con carte di credito al sito russo violando il contratto di servizio. La legge russa vale più delle pressioni delle corporazioni e dei governi i cui deputati sono ufficialmente pagati dai maialopolisti delle stesse => Controllate in questo sito chi paga chi e quanto.

AllOfMp3 ha venduto per anni legalmente musica online senza subire i diktact delle corporazioni e seguendo la legge Russa.

Sarcasmo sottointeso: Ciò ha causato tanti dolori e procurato la fame a Madonna e company che adesso non potranno più comprarsi il sottomarino privato da 60 metri

We all love Norton Antivirus

There was a time when symantec products were useful and needed. And that time is gone. I had the unpleasant experience of removing the suite from a friend's PC. She's technically challenged for a series of reasons the main of those is that she's a woman and the others are related to that one.

The process was painful as much as she was studborne. Her line was "I PAID for this and I want to keep it". She insisted to keep this line to the point she convinced a idiot before me to patch the notebook installing NOD over Norton. Of course no viruses were detected.

To clean the mess I linked her HD to my laptop and made a scan with Avira (that antivirus comes free you know that?). A long series of viruses then showed up.

Norton Antivirus is so nice and is the perfect companion to microsoft Windows. They are so close that you get them whatever you want them or not, with every new pc. At least I've got the impression that Symantec actually pays computer makers to install the trialware (ransomware?) on their machines.

Now since it is clear that we all love Norton Antivirus I am going to report some gems and poems that people wrote about the subject on the internet:

Optimize Wireless coverage for cents.

In this article I will teach how to make a very cheap wireless parabolic antenna from cardboard, tape, and tinfoil. Apart those components you're gonna need Wi-Fi equipment 801.11B-G I doubt this is gonna work on 801.11N because of the MIMO part of the standard.

Instructions are all over the internet, but I had to look hard to find them so I thought I can just put them here with a list of links to interesting places to visit.

THEORY: WHY A REFLECTOR

1. With a Reflector you are not touching your original equipment. Warranties stay on.
2. A reflector can be adapted to be mounted on a Wi-Fi antenna or even on a Wireless Wi-Fi USB adapter.
   
3. If you use a reflector and a Wireless USB adapter you can technically move the antenna as far as your extension cable can go. Using powered USB HUBS in between there are been made setups of 30+meters! This is simply impossible using a traditional approach because the wireless signal can't travel along antenna cable without losing strength AND it is WAY CHEAPER.
4. The reflector works like a mirror for radio signals. It concentrates the signals coming from one direction and stops those coming from the opposite side. Thus It can both secure your wireless AP from being maliciously accessed while providing better coverage where you need it.
5. It is DAMN cheap.

PRACTICE: HOW TO BUILD THE REFLECTOR

I present you two of the designs that worked best on my setup. The first one that I introduce is the EZ-10 from FreeAntennas.com. This one has proven working best with USB Adapters. The only modification needed was to cut a hole in the center tight enough for the adapter to snug inside.

There are the instructions printed alongside the antenna template. Just print the two images each on a A4 sided sheet. Then apply the scheets on the cardboard (the perfect cardboard is the one from shoe boxes). The square part had then be covered one side with tinfoil. I used aluminium tinfoil myself and acrilic glue. The triangular part is for keeping the reflector in shape and holding it to the antenna. After that glue or stick the thing togheter. If you want to adapt it to a USB stick then be careful not to make too big the hole otherwise it may fall.

The other design is the Windsurfer. I don't know where it does come from but I really like the shape and it has proven to work best on dipole antennas (the ones that come with the Access Points.

The windsurfer design lets you save a little bit on paper cardboard and tinfoil. And it looks better. Aslo it has a slightly better constuction and can withstand bumbs and accidents without losing the shape. Instruction for assembly are basically the same. Please print on A4 size since increasing it does not yeld additional gain.

Finalmente le Major hanno chiuso ALLOFMP3 (link morto RIP). Un negozio concorrente di iTunes che udite udite osava praticare il prezzo di 0,1€ a canzone per un file .mp3 senza DRM! Ecco la storia in inglese. Questo è inaccettabile perché sappiamo tutti che il prezzo "equo" (Link da downhillbattle.com) per questo servizio è 1,65€ su iTunes.

Devono essere stati veramente cattivi questi di AllOfMp3, sopratutto perché non si sono affidati alla RIAA (Sito parodia nel link) per collezionare le royalty da pagare alle major che poi avrebbero dovuto girarle agli artisti ma a una società Russa che probabilmente onestamente non diceva di girarli (Nel link un articolo di Courtney Love su come le major trattano i cantanti)

La questione era talmente scottante che i politici americani hanno insistito che la Russia non potesse entrare nel WTO (Sito ufficale) fino a quando questa questione del sito che vendeva musica non fosse stata risolta con la chiusura immediata. A poco sono valsi gli annunci di AllofMp3 che spiegavano come fosse legale vendere gli mp3 a quel prezzo dal mercato russo e che alcuni giudici avessero gia provveduto a proscioglierli dalle accuse a loro volte.

Putin ha potuto presentare dunque un bel regalo a Bush: Nessuno farà più temere la fame a Madonna (30 milioni di sterline nel 2001 325Milioni accumulati) o a Britney Spears o Jennifer Lopez e suo marito Marc Anthony (15 Milioni di dollari) o Celine Dion e tante altre macchine da soldi create per tenere i veri talenti a bada e portare i soldi nelle 4 case di produzione.

Come configurare il telefonino Wind per andare su internet

In questa breve guida vi scrivo come configurare un telefonino Nokia per andare su internet con Wind sotto Windows XP. Le istruzioni dovrebbero essere simili se non identiche per Windows 2000 - non so per Vista. Linux è ufficialmente "non supportato" dalla Wind. Leggete attentamente le avvertenze in fondo alla guida per evitare brutte sorprese!!!!

Perché pubblicare questa guida?
Il primo problema che vi troverete davanti è che sul sito di assistenza www.155.it non si trova la guida per configurare i telefonini per girare su internet. L'unica soluzione è chiamare l'assistenza Wind e farsi spedire sulla casella di posta elettronica la apposita Guida ufficiale. Il problema in questo caso è che se non avete l'accesso a qualche forma di internet non potrete leggerla e gli operatori del 155 si rifiutano di aiutarvi a configurare il pc. Cio detto ecco la guida molto sintetica:

* Passo 1 * Collegare il telefono al PC
Per collegare il telefono al PC c'è una varietà di sistemi e costituisce il punto più difficile di tutta la guida.

Il metodo più semplice è il cavo ed il software originale del vostro telefono. Dovrebbe installarvi direttamente il "modem" associato al vostro telefonino. Quindi in caso di Connessione via Filo installate il software e poi passate al passo 2
In caso di connessione Bluetooth le cose si fanno più complicate. Ci sono sostanzialmente due tipi di software sotto windows. Uno è Bluesoleil (Adattatori Cinesi) e l'altro è il BroadComm (Adattatori cinesi di marca). Nel caso di Broadcom dopo l'installazione del software rilevate le periferiche bluetooth ed abilitate il "Dial-up Networking". Il soft Bluesoleil lo analizziamo dopo.

* Passo 2 * Configurare i parametri speciali
Adesso dovreste avere il vostro telefonino riconosciuto anche come modem bluetooth. Aprite il pannello di controllo da li: Rete e connessioni Internet - Opzioni Modem e telefono (sulla barra sinistra in alto)

Se avete più di un modem installato selezionate il telefonino. Poi si apre un altra finestra andate direttamente sul tab "Modem" e cliccate su "proprietà". Si apre ancora un altra finestra, spostatevi sul tab "Avanzate". Questo è importante, inserite il seguente codice come comando di inizializzazione addizionale:

+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet.wind";

Senza immettere questo comando la connessione cade subito.

* Passo 3 * Creare la connessione
Il modem Bluetooth (o via filo) è stato configurato. Adesso basta creare una connessione per usarlo. Per fare cio sempre da pannello di controllo andate su rete e connessioni internet e scegliete "connessioni di rete" poi sulla sinistra in alto scegliete "Crea Nuova Connessione"

Si apre un Wizard (un altra finestra). Scegliete Connessione Internet - Avanti / Imposta Connessione Manualmente - Avanti / Connessione mediante modem remoto - Avanti / Vi chiede il nome dell'ISP per non Sbagliarvi mettete "WIND via Telefonino" - Avanti

Questo è importante: il numero di telefono da mettere è *99***1# Non mettete nessun nome utente e nessuna password. La connessione è pronta, se ci fate 2 click sopra e premete connetti il vostro telefonino vi proietta su internet.

RACCOMANDAZIONI
